Using multiple user accounts for different tasks

I've got a pc set up for running proffesional audio aplications. This
includes programs (hosts) such as cubaseSX and a LOT of plugins. Each plugin
has it's own installer making my registry a mess. Stability of the system is
extremely important here and it's usually not a problem as long as I don't
install anything else. As I use the same pc for surfing and playing I have
to install a lot more software and then my pc starts to get a lot slower
and/or sometimes programs crash, etc. I wouldn't even notice if I hadn't
made another account for my gf and noticed that that one loads in a fraction
of the time and runs smooth and without errors.
So I got an idea: Why not use one account for audio software and another for
games and surfing?
The question I'm asking is: Are there any problems I could have running
multiple accounts like this? And how to best seperate the two accounts so
that they don't load any unneeded stuff on startup?
Excuse my english (it's usually better when I've had coffee).
Thanks in advance

I would set up one username for your audio (just one, not one for each
program, as this would get annoying to change usernames to go to different
audio programs. Then set up one username for your email and web and games
(whenever you get on the computer without the intention of audio editing, use
this one). You may want to move your outlook folder so both usernames can get
the email, and make sure both usernames can get to each other's documents.

As long as you install thing under the proper username, you should have less
problems with slow starts, just make sure to keep the startup folder clean on
both usernames.

The only problems I can forsee are having two sets of settings, documents,
and My pictures/music/etc. folders. You could try having a common documents
folder for stuff you need in both usernames, or just give each account
permissions on the other account's stuff.

You do have to make sure that you don't get lazy and start working in the
wrong username, and you should completely log out of each username, as simply
switching users will load down the system.

There will inevetably be some software I'll need to use on both accounts like
audio/video players. Some of them have the option to install for all users
but what about those that don't? I just hope they'll work on both accounts..
I know for a fact that some programs (probably because of the registry
enteries they need) work only on the account they were installed on. Is there
a way to install these for both users? thx

what you are proposing has no effect on stability or performance!!!
Perhaps the startup applications may differ... , but you can reduce the
number of those
on the first account.

If you want to see a difference you will need to dual boot with 2
installations of
xp, (meaning that you will need 2 liscences theoretically if you want to
obey the eula)

I will be making a detailed tutorial on how to improve performance once and
for all on
XP.. bypassing all the problems that have haunted windows users for years
and years!

I have done this on my computer and it works super fast. I am updating my
site, but next week I will open the updated version.
