Greetings!
I've got 2 displays atached to my ATI X1950XT wich has 2 DVI connectors. Now
the thing is that I would like to install a third display using my second
graphic card ( NOTE! its different ) its a old PCI with only one vga but how
do I install it in VISTA? Does Vista support multiple graphic drivers?

Yours Björn Smedberg

Ive tried however, my graphic cards (x1950xt) fan spinns like a maniac,
nothing is displayed on any screen but the one attached to the newly inserted
pci card. When I reach the "desktop" i cant access the cataclys controle
center used to manage my x1950xt since the drivers are wrong or something
like that.

Am I just supposed to install the new drivers for this card and hope for
Vista to handle it?

Thanks for the fast reply!

to be set as primary in BIOS (PCI as primary graphic adapter). No problems in

It works? But will have to be primary card in bios, Now that makes me ask

Hello Bjorn,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929456/en-us

To support multiple graphics adapters in Windows Vista, the following
conditions must be true: All the graphics adapters must use the same driver
model. Therefore, all the graphics adapters must use Windows XP Display
Driver Model (XDDM) drivers. Or, all the graphics adapters must use Longhorn
Display Driver Model (LDDM) drivers.
If the graphics adapters use Windows Vista Display Driver Model (WDDM)
drivers, all the graphics adapters must use the same driver. For example,
you may have two graphics adapters that use the same driver. Or, you may
have a Dualview graphics adapter. For more information about Dualview, visit
the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/evaluation/features/dualview.mspx

You would need both gpus to be from the same manufacturer.

well yes... they are but they are not in the same series, one ATI Mac64
(realy old) and one ATI Radeon X1950XT so they dont use the same drivers
probably but Vista still finds someting for it. In Hardware manager it says
"standard vga card" or something alike.
