So I can't seem to get MM to capture a clear picture when I go to edit my
clips it is very blurry and looks like a 1930s movie. I am just waiting for
the IEEE 1394 port cable to come in the mail but My Question is; Can I use
the Picture Package download that came with my Sony HandyCam Camcorder to
down load my home movies and then send them to WMM? I seem to get a really
clear beautiful picture when I download through Picture Package. If I can How
do I do this, I can't seem to get Picture Package to do any thing but make a
movie. I can't even Copy to a CD when I am done. I would like to use WMM 2.1
that is already on my Computer. it seems like it would be a lot easier to
work with. Please Help Me figure this out.
Thank You

Picture Package is a cummy software. When you get your Firewire cable in
the mail, you can use it to capture your video. All you have to do is put
one end into your camera (put it on play/edit) and the other end into your
computer. Have Movie Maker open and select 'Capture Video' and the wizard
will appear to lead you thru it. The video will save wherever you choose to
put it, and also will be imported into the collections pane of Movie
Maker....from there you can drag to the timeline and edit a fine fine movie.
If you are going to view it on your computer I suggest saving it to 'High
Quality NTSC' (in options when you 'save movie'), or if you are going to burn
a dvd with third party software, save it in DV-AVI format to retain the
highest quality. If you just save it as an image file to a cd you can bring
it to other computers and view it in a media player....if you burn it to cd
as a vcd (video cd) you can play it on some dvd players too. Good luck!
Be patient and wait for that FIREWIRE....ha ha

Thank you!
I was just getting impatient. I thought that Picture package was a screwed
up program. I will wait for the cable. Hopefully that will work
Thank you! Thank you

Oh, I just noticed you said you can't get a clear picture. Remember the
preview in MM itself is of low quality so as to save resources, it is not
what your final movie will look like when you play it. As you get going on
this, and while you wait, may I suggest you read a number of pages of
questions and answers in this forum. There is much to learn and enjoy.
later...have fun!
