I have only used macros in Word where clicks and strokes
are recorded in the macro.

Outlook apparantly relies on Visual Basic for its macros
and I have nevcer used VB.

I want to create a macro that will generate a reply email
with a pre-written message body. Any place I can go that
might show me how to do this?

Thank you!

Do you want this response to be automated or do you simply wish to be able
to manually generate the response?

If you want an automated solution then you can set up a RULE to achieve this
task.
- The rule is triggered by what ever it is that determines which message is
to be autoreplied to... for instance the INCOMING email address... the
sender... something in the subject or body etc.
- You set the rule to REPLY using a message you have saved to your computer.
- The message you want to go out to the customer should be a message you
write and save as a template (*.oft file). Be sure to set the subject, body,
Account to use etc etc before saving the template.

This works for me.

The other option... (the Manual one)
If you simply want to be able to HIT reply on a message and then include
predefined text in the reply:
- Set up a SIGNITURE with all the text you want in the body... this can be
HTML formated or plain text...as you wish
- Then when a message comes in that you wish to reply to with this text just
hit REPLY and then insert the signiture and hit send.
