using & in a string

I'm trying to change a control label using a variable. The string the
variable contains has an & in it ie "Research & Development"

The variable passes to the lable but I can't get the ampersand to print.
 
Oh Gee, I tried CHR(38) singel quotes, double quotes etc.

How did you find out to use &&? I couldn't find it in help or in support.
