I would like to make a standard image of a W2K pro system
and then apply this to varios systems with varios models
and mainboards. I know that the IDE controllers have to
be identical or you will get a blue screen of
death....but....I also have heard that there is a very
simply way around this. I thought that it was to remove
the IDE controller before I syspreped and imaged, but that
does not seem to work?

Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated. I am in a bit of
a rush. :-(

Thanks in advance.

Are you using SysPrep 1.1? This has better support than the original for
different drive controllers.

You need to populate the [SysprepMassStorage] section of your sysprep.inf.
There should be a sample sysprep.inf in the download for sysprep 1.1 that
has that section filled in which you can use as a good starting point.

I know this sounds stupid, but where does the inf file
need to be placed???
