When viewing a copy of my web sight that is on my computer, not on a
server, IE lists the files in a directory instead of executing the
index.html file. Is there a way to have IE automatically bring up the
index.html without having to click on it?

No.
If you point IE to a folder such as C:\folder\myweb, it will open in folder
view.
In order for IE to open a specific file, you "must" point to that file
C:\folder\myweb\index.html

It is a function of the system, not IE.

Thanks for answering.
Noticed you tag 95isalive. I am still using 95a upgrade. Have upgraded
with surplus box's several times but 95 is still working fine thank
you. Kind of wish I could get USB support but no big deal.

Thanks.
That's my hobby site. It's getting kind of long in the tooth though.
USB support requires Windows 95B, also called OSR 2.

You can upgrade to it providing you can find a Windows 95B CD.
