Are you referring to System Restore? Open help and support. Click on "undo
changes to your computer with System Restore" under Pick A Task. Or click
on the System Restore shortcut in Start> Accessories> System Tools.

There is no such thing as 'Go Back' in XP. Go Back was a heinous application
produced by either Roxio or Symantec (I forget which, think it was Roxio)
which ran before your system even booted and generally screwed with your
system files.

If you are referring to 'System Restore' then may I suggest you use the Help
and Support Centre for the purpose for which it was included? Using SR in
Safe Mode is no different from using it under normal operating conditions.

Actually, there is a difference.
You cannot create a Restore Point from Safe Mode.
Therefore if you run a Restore Point from Safe Mode and it is successful,
then there will be no "Undo Last Restore Point" available.
But hey, if it resolved the issue, then no biggie.

True - but he wanted to restore. That part of the procedure is identical.
