Using Ghost and sysprep

I want to do something simple but it appears it is more
complex. I want to use 2003 Norton Ghost to make a clone
of a current drive. I want to then copy this clone to
another non identical drive. When I do this it will not
boot and Norton sort of thinks I need to use sysprep
(changing hardware issues). I can find no clear
information on sysprep. Also the people at Drive Image
seem to think their software will work without sysprep.
I have to think I am missing a simple step that is
required to make the drive bootable. I undersatnd
different hardware can goof Win XP but I am not getting
that far.

Thanks in advance.

Is it just the drive that is different or are you putting
the image on a whole new system. If you are using a
different motherboard then the HAL will be different and
it may not boot. I have run into this senario. Booting
into safe mode and removing the "System devices/PCI bus"
from the device manager has fixed this problem for me.
That is of course if you get as far as being able to hit
F8 for the boot menu.

Good luck.
