Using "find" in the address area to search

I have been typing "find" followed by my search criteria in the Explorer address and getting a list of relavant websites. The "find" function no longer works. When I try this, Explorer is adding "http://..........com around my text. Does anyone know how I can reset this and get "find" to work. It is really a fast way of searching
