I'm looking for some assistance in transferring files and
settings to a new computer. I am attempting to link two
computers with serial cables and use the Files and
Settings Transfer Wizard to bring files from my old
computer to the new one. The problem is that the process
can't get past the step on either computer at the point
when the wizard attempts to autodetect the ports in which
the computers are connected.
The new computer is an HP Pavilion a450n running Windows
XP. It has an NTSF (?) file partition. The old computer
is a Micron running Windows 98, with a FAT32 partition.
Does anyone know the solution to this problem? I have
about 3 gigs of data I need to transfer and don't have a
CD RW or network connection available on the old computer,
so I'm running out of options. Thanks!
