Whenever i put a start up disk into the floppy drive and reboot, it just loads straight into windows. What do i do?

Jake,

What's more than likely happening is that the boot order in your BIOS has
set the hard drive in priority over your floppy drive.

What you will need to do is go into your BIOS, could be anything from
hitting the DEL key to F2 during POST (memory check, etc), depending on the
brand of PC you have. You will have to contact your OEM or refer to your
motherboard manual for the specifics. Once in the BIOS, look for for a boot
order option. Make sure that your floppy drive is above your hard drive in
your boot order. When you reboot, your floppy drive will then access the
disk before booting into Windows.

Let me know if that helps you out!

In your bios settings, what is the order of the boot sequence? It sounds
like its Hard Drive, Floppy etc. It should be the other way around.
Floppy, Hard Drive.

Although you need to change the boot sequence in your bios, I wonder why you
want to use fdisk with XP. You really need to boot using your XP CD as fdisk
is a program to be used with dos & not XP.

On my install of Win98, I had partitioned the drive with XP so this
wasn't a concern when I switched to XP. Besides using something like
Partition Magic, how are partitions setup on an XP machine with a
clean install? Is partitioning an option from a bootable XP?

Although it's a DOS app, it will serve it's purpose as it did with
Win98 although the drive will require a reformat if you want NTFS.
