MY LCD is only 15" inches, when im at home i want to use my 17" monitor, i know how to extend my desktop in the settings to the 2nd monitor, BUT i simply want to use it as a clone of my primary monitor, and run programs on it. The problem is many games, while they run on my 15"LCD, dont allow themselves to be dragged onto the extended desktop like some programs do, i.e. internet explorer, or ms word. I have a compaq presario 900 series laptop, with a mobility U1 ATI card, with 1.5 GHZ, and 500+MB of RAM

Simply put i want to make the external a primary while im at home, but in the properties/settings tab that option is in a lighter corlored grey text and wont allow me to switch them, any thoughts>?

Some laptops have a secondary control panel that is separate from the one
Windows provides. Extra features of the laptop's display adapter
(projector, cloning, extending) are usually configurable here.

The standard screens in Windows let you choose which monitor should be the
primary monitor. Click on the 17" to see if that box becomes available. If
you are able to use this option, be sure to reverse it before removing the
external monitor!

Your laptop manual (paper or on the hard drive) should have more
information about what options are available to you for external monitors.
