I have seen many XP users have to hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete instead of th
welcome screen and then they have to type their name and password.
How do I make my computer do it that way. I have XP Professional

Although it looks like a troll I'll answer anyway. Q: How do you do it?
A: Press ctrl-alt-delete simultaneously. If it fails, do it again. Two
repetitions should be all you'll need even on a stubborn system.

If you are really in love with the concept of typing out the information
and want to do it every time, go to control panel (as an administrator),
click on "change the way users log on or off", and uncheck "use the
welcome screen", then click "apply options".

In a Windows XP Home installation, I went to help (off of the start
menu) and search for: ctrl alt delete login.

One topic was found that advised me to go to the "User Accounts" control
panel, and click on the "Advanced" tab, where I would find the setting
you're looking for. One problem: There's no Advanced tab in the control
panel as far as I can tell.
