When using the Contacts folder of Outlook 2003 I should be able to move
within contacts by inputting a letter or two in my keyboard. Eg. If I have
contacts beginning with the letter "B" showing, I should be able to move to
the contacts starting with the letter"S" by hitting the "s" key on the
keyboard. Although this occassionally will function, it seldom works and I
must point and click with the mouse onto the letter tab in Outlook or use the
scroll on my mouse to move to the new section. This problem has occurred
since I received my new Dell Inspiron 600M 3 weeks ago. Microsoft says Dell
must service since it is provided by them and Dell wont answer questions
without a $39 payment. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you first restore the focus to your screen, does it then work as you
expected?

Thanks for your suggestion. What I have now discovered to work is if I
highlight one of the contacts on the screen before inputting in a letter via
the keyboard, the outlook will then take me to that section of the alphabet.
Without highlighting a contact, it will not.

Then turn off Outlook Today as your default view and it will work normally
again.
