Using CD-RWs as floppies/packet writing?

How can get my computer to treat CD-RWs as floppies? My brother's computer
has the ability to copy to and delete files off a CD-RW - just like working
with a floppy or removable HD. I think it's call packet writing or
something. I've been told Nero has this ability, but how else can I do
this? What other programs are out there?

Windows XP has that feature built in if you have a cd burner. I think you
just pop the cdrw into the drive and drag-drop files to the drive in
explorer or my computer, however you want.

Hi,
With Nero you need to install InCd which probably means putting your Nero
disc in again. If you need any help with it, drop me a mail.

Actually, the native XP burning application does not have packet writing
capability. Third party software will need to be acquired and installed to
use packet writing.
XP has very basic and limited CD burning capability.

Hmmm thanks but I haven't got Nero. I downloaded the trial version (packet
1) off the net, but InCD doesn't seem to be in it. It wasn't listed under
the contents for packets 2 or 3 either. I downloaded the InCD update
package, but it wouldn't let me install it without the full registered
version of Nero. I don't need Nero, since I already have the programs I
need for most of Neros features - so I really don't want to have to pay $60
or whatever it is for it.

I did some reading on the net anyways, and it seems pack-writing isn't that
reliable or useful. I mainly wanted it to backup my files, and it seems
packet writing is not very good for that. I also wanted to use it to copy
files across to people I know - but unless they have the same packet program
installed apparently their systems won't be able to access the discs, which
screws up that idea.

I guess I'll stick with using CD-RWs the normal way...
