Using Briefcase

I'd like to work on files on my laptop, and then udpdate
those same files on my main computer at home. I
understand you can easily do this by connecting the two
computers and using a program called "Briefcase". I
don't see such a program on XP, but do see reference to
it in the XP help files.

How do I connect the two computers (they are not on any
type of network) using a cable? Would I use a USB
cable? My laptop runs on Windows 98, and has the
Briefcase program. How can I easily update the files on
my main computer?

Why do it the easy way, when there is a complex one?

Just get yourself a USB memory stick of the size you need. Your 98
laptop should be able to see what it is; if it is 98SE, that is.
