Using Analog Capture device to capture footage from VHS/VCR

I am trying to capture footage with two different analog capture devices...
they both worked on the same laptop before the hard drive crashed and I had
to reformat. Now neither will work. I have all drivers (legacy at least),
etc. loaded (I'm pretty sure) but I can't choose any input device other than
Intel PC Camera Pro...I have a Dazzle DVC80 (which I've seen in othermessage
string to work) but now my pc won't recognize it (tried to get drivers from
company that make it, but they won't load--computer freezes), the other is
unknown but recognize, but I still can't get any picture in preview.

My website's Analog Video Capture > Dazzle page includes a link to download
the Dazzle 80 driver...

I finally found an obscure reference to a "patch" driver...for the DVC-80 and
it worked. Now I'm capturing from Analog. still can't figure out why my
original cheap (and most reliable to date) video capture device won't work,
but I guess who cares? Problem solved. BTW, the "updated" drivers from the
mftg website require that you use their software and not WMM2, Thanks!
