Is there a way I can use my external hard drive
while using Internet Explorer and Outlook Express?
I security concerned and thought if I have these
files
on the external drive where I can disconnect it
from
the PC when I'm not using it. I already keep my
doc
financial files on it. Would like to be able to
do the
same when I access my bank account, etc......TNX

Your paranoid.
Outlook Express is part of win, as is IE, they will thus be installed on
your boot drive with win.

If on the other hand you want to stop other people at your location
accessing your PC there are other ways.
PS you have a backup of your data? perhaps a second external drive?

There's no need to have an external hard drive connected while accessing
your bank account via the internet.

Why? I thought Hackers or Phishers could get
ahold of names
and passwords while you're on the web?
Yes I am paranoid but I've had my Visa compromised
3 times
this year. No damage, bank caught it, but it's a
paid in the
next to have to let all you autopays know the new
number.
So are you saying just keep your Word, Excel &
PDF's, in
anotherwords things that contains personal info
that one saves
on the external hard drive ?

It's important to keep your PC system clean. Hackers only visit your
system when you work with your pc.

Okay and Thanks for the info. But what about
hackers getting to stored e-mail messages?
This is what I was more concerned about since
they are stored on the hard drive.

I think I pretty well have the hardware covered
with
a Firewall / Malware checker / Virus protections
and pop up stopper. And I don't go to something
I'm not sure of.
