I currently have a customized Accounting program running
on Access 97. I have tried unsuccessfully to upgrade it
to Access 2000.

I therefore need to continue to use Access 97. Can I
however, upgrade other office 97 products to 2000. i.e. I
would like to use Word 2000 and Outlook 2000 but do don't
want to hurt my current installation of Access 97.

I have used other Office2K products with Access97 without any problems.

OTOH, it may be better to resolve the conversion problems and convert your
A97 customised accounting program to A2K. Perhaps, you may need some help
from the original developer to do so.

Depending on the app, this upgrade can be trivial or quite complex -
you would certainly need to at least get the developer's cooperation
to do so!

Not a problem. I'm using Access97 along with all of Office2002
(*including* Access2002). If you do install Access from the later
version, install it in a separate folder and decline the Office
installer's offer to upgrade.
