Using a UNC in an HTML field?

I checked IE and Windows Explorer help on this and came up zilch, so . . .

I want to compile a file of "references" (explanatory text or pictorial
data) for botanical entries in my Plant Database.

A particular reference can be either a web address URL or a file on a local
computer. I have everything working fine, except . . .

For the local computer file, I want it to be a LAN-type file reference
(e.g., \\WorkstationA\C\Pics\xxx.jpg) instead of just a local drive
reference (e.g., C:\Pics\xxx.jpg). But I can't figure out how to get
Windows Explorer to display an Address in the LAN-address format (darned if
I'm going to type all that stuff in, either!).

MS Access Help calls this a UNC (Uniform Naming Convention), which is one of
the formats legal in a Hyperlink field, but I can't figure out how to get a
value to paste into it!

Thanks.

Try browsing your way in via "My Network Places" -> "Computers Near
Me" -> WorkstationA -> C ... and so on -- using your own OS version's
names for "My Network Places" and "Computers Near Me", if those aren't
right. When I go in that way, the address bar in Windows Explorer gives
the UNC path.

Hey, Dirk!

Works like a champ! Thanks!
