Some time ago, I use to be able to type the letter g followed by an item to
look for, into the address bar on my task bar and it would do a Google
search and open up a search page. I have lost this ability and would like to
know what I need to do. I am using WinXP Home, SP2 and the latest IE. I have
it working on my laptop but can't get it to work again on my desktop.
What I have done so far:
Start TweakUIXP, go to Internet Explorer>Search and create "g",
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&num=100&q=%s. This is the same address
that I have working on my laptop. I select apply and OK out of TweakUIxp.
Then I reboot the computer and it still doesn't work. As an example, if I
type g skeleton in the address bar I get a page cannot be displayed window.
If I type the same in the Google search window, it will open a search window
just fine. Just an annoyance I can't seem to solve. I would appreciate some
ideas about this. Thanks.
