there is no place on my computer to plug in a dv cable!! is there a connector
into a usb port or something? im going crazy help!!!

the best thing to do would be to buy a firewire card that would plug into a
spare pci slot inside the pc, you can buy these from most pc shops, i think
you maybe able to get an extrenal one but im not sure, would suggest you do a
google search and put in external firewire hub or somehting along those lines.

External firewire hub's connect into........a firewire port!
There purpose being to expand an existing single FW port
The original posters only option is to have a PCI firewire card
installed.

USB and FIREWIRE are two very different criteria.
It is not possible to connect either to each!

Yes, you need a firewire port. Since your computer didn't come with
one, you need to buy a pci firewire card. This plugs into an empty pci
slot in your computer(make sure you have an empty slot first) and gives
you one or two firewire ports to use. Available at compUSA, newegg.com
etc., not expensive.
