We are using Office XP and many distribution lists have
been setup. We would like to use the distribution lists
to select the contacts to be included in a mail merge.
Is that possible?

No. You'd need to use a Contacts Subfolder, or group your Contacts by
Category in Outlook and start the merge from Outlook.

I would like a simple listing (text, etc) of the contacts
in the Global Distribution List, how can I do it?

Not sure what this has to do with this thread. You should ask in an Exchange
