Why does the profile "outlook" only show in Word 2003 when I want to have it show Outlook Contacts so I can choose an address for my envelopes. Office XP was no problem, but 2003 Outlook is a real problem.

I don't understand your question. Explain what you mean more clearly. Word
has always prompted for the Outlook profile you want to use when you start
the merge from Word--in every Office version.

Thanks for your reply, appreciated. I go into Word 2003, Tools, Letters and Labels. I point to the book(insert addresses) and a drop down box appears "Choose profile' and it show 'outlook'. When I pressed the down arrow to choose Contacts it came up with an error and told me I had to log onto MS Exchange! I have just gone back to word 2003 so I can type the actual messages. Believe it or not it is now working correctly and I can choose Contacts. marvellous! An hour ago I reloaded my Office 2003 disk and selected "repair" and this seems to have resolved the problem. Thank you for your time, Kindest regards, Alan Line

If so, then the "Contacts" in that dropdown is not your Contacts Folder. It
must be a name of a second Outlook profile you have created. Most likely it
was not configured with the correct transports to handle a mail merge until
you repaired your installation.
