I do not know if I have it installed on my computer how can I tell if I do? What are the uses for it

Thanks.

To find if you have PowerPoint installed on your computer, search for the
file POWERPNT.EXE
To do this, goto Start | Search | Files | POWERPNT.EXE

As for its uses ... Well, as Big Bill says, where do you want to go today?
PowerPoint was originally designed as a presentation product, to help
visualize concepts in a meeting. It has evolved a bit since then. It can
be used to make Stand-alone Kiosk displays, electronic slide shows,
presentations on disk, or on the web; it can be used for simple graphics
printing, or complex animations. Of course it still does presentations, but
much better than ever. It is limited mostly by your imagination. What do
you want it to do?

It will be on the Start Menu, usually under Microsoft Office, as Microsoft
PowerPoint.

It is used to prepare and present slide shows, usually for business
purposes.
