Hi
This is the third time that I have posted this problem so
I am hoping for a reply.
I have a home test network that consists of 4 pc’s
1 windows 2000 server and 3 windows 2000 professional
machines.
I have a domain and have created various users in active
directory.
The problem I am having is that when I create new users
and try giving them more
rights, like adding them to the administrators group for
example.
When I log on as the user they have no more rights than
they already had.

I have created a user called testuser and added it to the
administrators group and
The domain admins group. The user is not able to add or
remove hardware or do anything else.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

you may have to add the domain user account to the
workstation administrators group manually. Sometime the
workstations doesn't add this account to the
administrators group automatically even though you have
admin rights on the domain.

Hope this will help,

M

I suggest using Restricted Groups feature of the Group Policy to maintain
consistent membership of the Administrators group on the computers in domain
