I'm using GPO to control my Terminal Server with Loopback processing
enabled. Every time user login gets a message "Applying your personal
settings.." for around 30 Sec.

Any ideas....

DC Windows 2003 Ent SP1
TS Windows 2003 Ent SP1

The fact that you have posted this assumes that you believe this time period
to be too long, and you think it should complete quicker? If so, please
confirm whether or not there are any Userenv or Scecli errors and/ or
warnings in the application event log. If there are, you should cross-check
them with www.eventid.net. Come back to us too. You should also take a
look at %systemroot%\debug\usermode\userenv.log. Use this article to help
you make sense of it:

I will try today and will let you know.

DC, DNS, Users, and TS are on the same subnet.

Paul,

There are no Warnings or Errors in the log at all, I have the auditing
turnd on to full. My DC, DNS,Wins, TS are all on the same subnet evan
for testing purposes I pluged everything in to the same switch.

I have also turned on userenv.log and found no errors. Its definetaly
30 sec every time. Is 30 sec default value somewhare in GPO which I
could turn down.

Any ideas.

I found two Errors in Userenv.log

USERENV(314.33c) 10:54:33:046 AbleToBypassCSC: tried
NPAddConnection3ForCSCAgent. Error 85
USERENV(314.33c) 10:54:33:061 AbleToBypassCSC: tried
NPAddConnection3ForCSCAgent. Error 2109

Are these users using roaming profiles?
NPAddConnection3ForCSCAgent. Error 85

Googling around suggests that this error is often regarding roaming profiles
and permissions/

Yes these are roaming profile users, I'm going to check in the morning.

I will remove the roaming profile and test to see if there is any
difference.

There are no errors in the log .

Sounds like you are using Roaming Profiles and there is either a
communications problem or a badly performing server (the one holding the
profiles) that is slowing down the download.....

I had this problem with a 2000 TS after installing a service pack. I had to
restore from backup. I found that if you made one of the users an admin for
testing the 30 sec delay went away. Bottom line I ended up formating and
loading windows 2003 TS. Not a problem since.

I know it is not a fix but just my 2 cents. Did you install any service
packs latly or software. I also had no event errors.
