As part of a small business, we have a dozen or so
workstations (users) connected to a single server running
Windows 2000. The server and all workstations are in the
same building, connected by ethernet cables on what I
believe is a LAN network.
The workstation PC's have various operating systems, some
Windows 98 and some newer with Windows XP Pro. While the
Windows 98 systems seem to keep a constant connection to
the server, the XP systems constantly run into "time-out"
periods where they lock up for approximately 30 seconds,
trying to re-connect with applications utilizing the
server.
Are there known issues regarding this? And if so, is there
anything we can do about it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
