I have a client with 2600 workstations running XP. There
are approximately 500 printers in the environment and
users will have to install the correct printer for
themselves. We are finding that printers which do not
have drivers in XP are giving an access priviledges error
when trying to install. Such as the HP LJ 4100. I have
tried to give users add printer rights in a GPO but that
does not appear to be working. The client is adament
about not giving everyone Power user rights.
