I have a problem with some user accounts, the accounts are disappearing
out of some security groups.
We have 4 domain controllers in our Windows 2000 domain.
Since a couple of weeks some new users are disappearing from some
security groups.
I can not find the solutions for this problem, maybe someone can help
me out.

Regards, Marc

This may not necessarily be a bug, it could have to do with protected groups
.. If you have delegated permissions to certain ou's the system might decide
to adjust things automagically. Paul William's, MVP from this newsgroup,
has a good article on this with referring articles from Microsoft.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your information, the groups are groups which I have defined
a couple of years ago.
Since a couple of weeks the new users are losing there membership, old
users are still in the group. This is not a ristricted group so far I
can see. Under AdminSDHolder there are no groups defined.

Do you have or someone have a suggestion?

Regard Marc

Did someone configure and use a GPO with the restricted groups feature
and the members option?

Only the members specified will remain in the group. Everyone not
specified will be removed

No there are so far as I can see no restricted groups.
There are no policies with this setting applied.
