Usernames and email addresses

Is there any reasoning / justification to support changing
an existing format of (FirstInitialLastName) for usernames
and email to (FirstName.LastName)?

This really depends on the wants and needs of your
organization. I am sure that a good many people will tell
you that they hate the firsname.lastname format...

I, for one, do not mind it. I think that you will find
that what you have is more common. However, that is all
completely useless as far as your organization is.
