username and password

I tried to set up my email account. It tells me that I've completed
eveything satisfactorily however when it prompts me for my user name and
password, I enter it, and it does not take. what am I doing wrong?

When the log on box appears in WM requesting PW & UN always click cancel,
never OK.

Or WM wipes the settings!!!!

Only ever enter your detail at tools>accounts>select your
account>properties>server tab, and as I say always cancel the request pop
up.

Get back with any complete error messages.
