My logon id and password for windows2000 does not work
when I boot up. I had gone in and changed the network
settings to make this a workgroup computer. I was trying
to copy files between two computers and I decided to
change my laptop to workgroup. Once I did that it asked
me to reboot and ever since I have not been able to logon
to windows at all. At the logon screen I don't even have
the option of changing the domain name. How do I get
into windows now and try to get my files out?

Disjoining the domain destroyed the client/ domain trust. You'll need to
physically reconnect to the domain and rejoin it to the domain. You can
logon locally with any valid local account. The cached domain account
information is no longer available. Ask the systems administrator to rejoin
the pc back to the domain.
