Windows XP Userinit Logon App - Error

I am using WIN XP Home and have 4 users at logon. Only one logon will work. All the other users get the following error message. "Userinit Logon Application Failed etc" then their desktop is displayed with no icons. CTRL ALT DEL will only allow you to disconnect or logoff. I have recently upgraded to Norton Internet Security 2005 package and it located 58 viruses. I have also been running SpyBot and AdAware constantly. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Mac
