Userenv: Event 1090 Error

B

Bill George

I have a performance problem and noticed the Event Error
above in the Computer Management/System Tools/Event
Viewer/Application area. Wondered if they might be
related. This error is repeated virtually every day and
numerous times each day.

The computer is booting and running extremely slow.
Everything is taking way to long. May have begun
following an upgrade install of XP Pro over XP Home, but
can't swear. In any case the problem has only recently
appeared.

Have looked at most of the obvious things like runaway
processes, background apps, viruses, etc., but no luck.

In addition to updating and running your anti-virus
program did you check for spy ware / parasites / etc.?

Get a second opinion. On-line virus check sites:

Check for trojans

Trojans are stealthy and not always found by anti-virus
software. If you find suspicious processes running or task
manager or regedit is being killed after opening, you
might want to try one of the following tools to check for
trojans (after scanning with at least two anti-virus tools
to get rid of the easy stuff).

DiamondCS TDS-3 - Trojan Defence Suite (TDS), leading anti-
trojan system for Windows: http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/

removes trojans: http://www.misec.net/trojanhunter.jsp

Ad-Aware and Spybot can be found via Google. Basic
version is free. Update and use both daily.

Hope something here helps.
