I have a second account on my machine that I don't want my antivirus or
firewall to load in.
In my main account, can I create these run keys under "Local User" and
then delete them under "Local Machine"?

ccApp "D:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe"
Symantec NetDriver Monitor D:\PROGRA~1\SYMNET~1\SNDMon.exe /Consumer
Zone Labs Client D:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe

Or will I be getting into deep doodoo? :-)

It depends on how these applications are written. They
may not only use startup programs but services as well,
which start independently of the current user. A much
more robust way would be to create a dual-boot
environment: One with a virus scanner and a firewall, the
other one without.

Yeah, I've thought about the services thing. I really don't know
where to go to change those. I'm not going to take any chances
though. I'm already dual booting Windows 98. I've got one of those
Hot Swap drive trays. Maybe I'll just put a clean install on another
drive and do it that way. The biggest problem is that I wanted to try
running some of my other installed apps without any antivirus or
firewall running in the background. If I do it on another drive or
partition that means I'll have to reinstall those applications as
well.
Thanks for the input!
