Potential new Access 2000 DB
15-20 tables
2000 records before archiving
5-10 concurrent users
30-40 users total
Reside on a dedicated server
LAN reliability very good and not overloaded

We can have a record partially completed (ie to complete
requires various users to input data to a record)and once
record is completed (all necessary data input to a record
by the various users) it can be "submitted" with NO
further editing/updating. Possible?

User Security/Accessibility

We would like to limit users as follows:
Some users read write to all data/input forms
Some users read write to specific data/input forms and
read only to the remainder
Limit users to to above permissions to their
department/unit records only
Possible for submitted record to have notes added by a
senior mgr.?
Security /Audit Trail
Is it possible for Access 2K to "user, date and time
stamp" any data entry/editing of a record?

Any additional insights are welcomed.
Thanks

Yes you can add a yes/no field to the table. Once the record is complete
update this to yes. Then when you open a form in the on current event
change the allow edits property to no if this field is yes.

Yes you can do this. Implement Access user level security. Download and
study the security FAQ available at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=207793

Be sure to follow every step outlined or your database won't be secure.

You need to set this up yourself. See Allen Browne's site for explanation.
