Hello,

I inadvertently deleted the restore check point, so if it did happen again,
I can do to the last time set up.

Here, I lost all. when the computer to load up or restart after the new
setup of unknown ISP staff. He changed everything, if not set up by him, I
cann't connect to the Internet.

Okey, I have tried the Gina.dll error already. Nothing changed.
The computer is running smooth, except I'd like to set the user screen logon
back ,not classic logon mode, with the welcome screen back. Also, I go to
the control panel -> user accounts , it changed in the display as you run
type "control passwords2". In fact, it should be in the normal interface as
before.

aha Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hi,

I'm not quite sure I understood everything completely.
In case you want to use the welcome screen, check the setting
control panel > user accounts > change the way users log on or off,
under there you should have "Use the Welcome Screen" enabled.

The registry value that it changes is
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\LogonType. 0 is classic, 1 is welcome screen.

Also, if there's a reference to gina.dll or so, that customizes the logon
screen as well. It might have been something like ginadll=xxxx, can't
remember exactly.. removing those references helped me in the past with some
problems..

Hello jon,

I've gone through your procedures and follow with this assistance:
Go to the following link, http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm,
scroll to line 45, refresh back gina.dll. Nothing changed.

I changed the value of LogonType to "1" as well, also nothing go.

And as you suggest to go to the control panel to user accounts, I cann't
find "change the way users log on or off screen".

As if something or some files lost, or value changed, I don't know. Before
I deleted the restore checkpoint, I could reset back, but I cann't connect to
Internet.

So, I must accept the change in type of Logon in order to connect to the
Internet.
Aha, please jon don't ask me to request help to the guy ISP staff, he seemed
very much like me to do the way he does.

Thanks,
