How do I give a user the right to install software on a 2000 professional
box. I do not want to give users the admin password but I would like to
have them be able to install software. Is this possible? This is a win2K
network with win2000 clients. I just want to authorize one user on one
workstation. Can anybody help?
TIA,

It completely depends on the software and what it needs to change. By the time you gave out every right needed to
install every piece of software possible you have given the user basic admin control over the machine as it is.

Just add the user, to the "administrator" group of the
Local Machine. That way, they log on with their account,
and will be able to install software, but won't have
domain rights.

Answer is you can't, but you don't need to if the installation script is an
msi (runs with elevated priviledges).
