User Restrictions

Casey

When I try to access Tools - Internet Options on IE6, I
get the message:

"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in
effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administrator."

on Control Panel - Users - Casey is set so Casey has
Administrator privledges

If I logon as ADMINISTARTOR, I can get into IE6, Tools -
Internet Options

any help would be appreciated
 
Hello Casey,

Follow wither of these steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1
---------------
1. Click Start, click Run, type REGEDIT, and click OK.
2. In Registry Editor, navigate to the following key by clicking the PLUS
(+) sign.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\POLICIES\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\Restrictions
3. In the right pane, please check if the Nobrowseroptions entry exists. If
so,
right click the Nobrowseroptions entry, and click delete to remove it.
4. Close Registry Editor and restart the computer to test this issue.

If the issue still occurs, please perform the steps below to edit the group
policy.

Step 2
-----------------
1. Click Start, click Run, type "gpedit.msc" (without the quotation marks)
and press Enter.
2. Click User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Internet
Explorer -> Browser menus.
3. In the right pane, double click the "Tools menu: Disable Internet
Options".
4. On the Setting tab, choose Disable.
5. Close Group Policy.
