I'm at my parents computer and he updated Windows XP from
the website, now when you turn the computer on you don't
get to choose differemt user's like before.

Is this a known issue and if so, is there a way to get it
back like it was before.

Hi,

Do you mean there are no users to choose from? Or that it reverted to the
Win2000-style logon screen? For the latter, reenable the Welcome screen in
the Control Panel/Users/"Change the way...".

I'm having the same problem--that there are no users to
choose from. And this on my laptop that I've been using
for two years and suddenly the user accounts are gone.
When the laptop boots up, XP loads, but the entire right
hand side of the screen (where the users usually are
shown) is blank. Just gone. I did the control/alt/delete
x 2 and that brings up a login box with my username in
it, but I never had a windows password and it won't let
me in now because I think it thinks I need one. Aaarrghh!
I have the original restore cds, but would love not to
have start from scratch if there is a way around this. If
so, you can cool believe I'll be making myself a windows
password the next time.
