User Profile

I am hoping someone can help me out. My computer will not
save my user profile. When I sign on, it tells me that my
user profile cannot be found and I will be logged on with
a temporary user profile. I have already checked my files
in the configuration utility and it appears the problem
is with my event log in system services. There is no
further troubleshooting information available once it is
determined which file is causing the problem. My system
is working and files are able to be opened, but nothing
is saved when I log off and log back on. If anyone knows
of a way to fix this without using my system recovery
disk, please let me know. Thanks.
 
If you check the profiles on the machine, are there
multiple ones with your name, or is there anything on the
end of it like ".000". Have you tried loggin on with the
admin delete your profile and recreate it?
