User Profile Service Failed Logon

For a few days I have been getting problems with my profile for my account
failing to load. Last night it happened and the machine crashed hard and I
rebooted. Since then I cannot login to my account. It is the second of two
admin accounts (my wife has the second). I am using hers now. How can I
repair MY profile account so it will login? I don't want to have to create a
new account if I do not need to.

The error I am getting is a 1500. But it just says Access Denied as the
reason. Very weird...here is the error log info:

Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that
you are connected to the network, and that your network is functioning
correctly.

DETAIL - Access is denied.

Any ideas? I am stumped.

NOBODY? Come on MS guys...I am handcuffed and I should not be....don't make
me run back to WinXP after promoting this product and getting 10 people to
buy it!

I have two ways you can use that might fix your problem.

1.On your wife's account, go to C: (or hard drive letter)/User/(your account
name, maybe owner)/ and copy all your data to a floppy or flash drive (usb).
Then delete the account and make it over again, copy back the files and
there you go. I had to do that when I used system restore to fix a problem.

2. use system restore.

Hie. I have also been getting the message: User profile failed logon and I
have tried both your suggestions with no luck. My main problem is thaI am
the administrator and even if I go through another person's account, I am not
getting to my data. Any more suggestions?

I am in exactly the same sitation as Garikai.

I have no administrator functions as my one and only Administrator account
has the "User Profile Service service failed the logon" problem.

How do I create a new Administrator account to get administrator functions
back?

Microsoft, can you help please?

I gave up tonight, and did something drastic to fix this problem.

I rebooted my system in 'safe mode' (which allowed me to login as
administrator), moved my files to the public area, and then deleted my
profile (using the Users option in Control Panel).

When I rebooted again, in normal mode, I could login as administrator, and
then moved my files back and rebuilt my profile manually.

The only problem was my forgetting about e-mail messages, which I did not
backup and have been lost permanently. Ug!!!

Hope this helps someone. (If there is a more elegant fix, please let me
know, as I will doubtless need to do this again in the future, unless
Microsoft fix the bug.)

PS One benefit of this has been the removal of an annoying corrupt message
in Windows Mail which I could not delete.
