I have an account set up as a "user", and he has an old version of a Print
Shop application. When he tries to open it he gets a runtime error, "abnormal
program termination". I believe that this is because its a legacy application
and him being a user cannot open it. Is there any way I can allow that
application to open for him without having to change him to a "power user". I
would like him to only have "user" rights on this pc. Any suggestions would
be appreciated. Thanks.

This is the problem with running old programs (or improperly written new
programs) that don't understand permissions. You can use Systernals
free FileMon and RegMon utilities to see where the program is trying to
write and adjust permissions accordingly.

Or buy your user a newer version of The Print Shop.
