Many handheld computers such as thinkpads and others like it have special
operating systems and special versions of IE, that are not always compatible
with certain elements of web sites. Some have issues with javascript, some
have issue with java and other types of scripting.

| One user that has visited my site said that she cannot see any of the text

Try creating a page that uses just Arial or Verdana fonts and see if this user can then see the
text. If the user can see the text, then you problem is with the non-standard fonts you have chosen.

Worked for me in Firefox 1.0.7, IE 6.0 and Opera 8.5

It did seem a bit slow to load.

I'm not really concerned about the pages loading slow, unless it's something
I did.

Being a church website, it is being hosted for FREE. So I shouldn't
complain about such things.

I'll also give consideration to removing the hover buttons. I just have to
decide what to use instead.

Well, if they load slow, it may appear to some people they don't load at
all, or they will only partially load before they give up and go away.

They were slow for me on cable broadband. What about those people who have
dial-up...and there are many.

You should be concerned.

Decide on text then those blind parishioners that want to 'read' the site
through screen readers can! Plus everyone else, including search engines.

I'd check with your church hq on the rules you have to follow for your
particular domination as regards useibility, accessbility and meeting local
and state laws re websites.

I saw the text okay, but I got two red X's under the left hand navigation
bar, under the Religious Education button. And if the page loads slowly,
it's probably because your background image is too large. I know it's
tempting to use a beautiful image for a background, but in any case, your
image begins to tile on the right and halfway down the page. You might think
about using a much smaller image and making it a seamless tile. There's a
lot of software available for making seamless tiles. If you are using
Paintshop Pro, it does a good job.

I found the background image to be very distracting... that alone will make
it harder for older folks to read the text. (I'm one of them - 69)
Give the background a simple color such a #FFFFEE.

And your choice of "Old English Text MT"
and "Dialog" fonts are going to pose problems
for those who do not have those particular fonts
installed on their systems. (Most won't have them
installed so they'll see your site with their default
fonts)

I saw nothing on your site's display resembling an
Old English font so am assuming my IE6 browser
defaulted to my system's Arial default font.
