Hello & Hi in advance.

I want to login automatically without password on XP Pro comp. I typed
control userpasswords2 and the User Propeties box appaeared, but I don't see
the "USERS MUST ENTER A USER NAME & PASSWORD TO USE THIS CMPUTER" check box.
I can view on another computer. So either I am missing some type of file or
something is not setup right.

Sorry to seem thick, and to but into your thread like this, but I'm new to
the group and I'm trying to post a question, but when I click New/Question,
the screen just blinks, but no new window comes up in the way this reply
window has. Am I missing something obvious? The help files refer to a Subject
box and a Body box, but I can't see either.
Thanks.

I have no idea why you're not seeing that entry but a possible
workaround would be to use TweakUI, a Microsoft program that
can be downloaded here:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

TweakUI direct download
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once the program is installed go to Start -> All Programs ->
Powertoys for Windows XP -> TweakUI and launch the program.
In the left hand column, click on the + sign next to Logon.
In the expanded branch, click on Autologon.
Check the box and enter your user name and password.
Click OK.

Good luck

yes you can disable password but bear in mind you are more vulnerable to
malware and stolen identity unless you don't plan to use for any financial
or commercial transaction or record any personal data.

if you are using an administrator power DI, you are even more vulnerable and
your pc is highly susceptible to drive by sabotage to be zombie controlled
by other people.. what is drive by sabotage?
an accidental mistype of a web address or click on the wrong link in
searches and end up on a criminally setup website to make unauthorized
change on your PC. The is always bugs and vulnerabilities in any software,
at least in our lifetime.
