I want users logon sessions to end (logout user) if idle for 15 minutes. Any
basic advise on how to?

Many thanks, but I run Win 2k Svr. The install failed because it runs only on
XP or later version of OS. Any recommendations for Windows Server 2000? It
will be a great help for the students.

WinExit from the W2K resource kit will install.

It seems winexit.scr only applies for that user you manually apply it for.
So how would you apply it for all users on a computer? I imagine using Group
Policy on a domain controller, using some Display setting or something?

Have a look in Group Policy under User Config > Admin Templates > Control
Panel > Display. You can specify the screensaver to be used in here.

ok, just tried using winexit.scr in group policy. it doesnt actually log
users out, it just activates the password-protected locked screen (i
specified that in the same policy). even specified correct path to file
location (c:\winexit.scr), as requested if not in default location of
sysroot/system32.

winexit should log users off, not just activate the screen saver. If it's
not working correctly I don't know what the problem could be but it's
certainly the right tool to use.

yeah, i have done that. the probelm then is that after i save and refresh
everything and the screensaver activates on a PC, there's a Registry error.
i click OK past that and the countdown starts, but without my custom warning
message applied. then, at the end of the countdown, it doesnt logoff - it
merely locks. what am i missing?
