I am running a peer to peer network with a dedicated file sharing computer.
Unfortunately in the infininte wisdom of Microsoft, they consider sharing a
file on more than 10 computers simultaneously a bad thing. I need to share a
database file - .dbf

Does anyone have a solution, I have tried installing third party ODBC and
updated my MDAC...xp is too smart!

Thanks

You should consider installing Windows 2003 Server as your
O/S on that dedicated file sharing computer.

It's not that Microsoft thinks it's a bad thing, they just limit the
license for 10 connections (or something like that) for XP.

Consider instead:

- Hosting the file on a Windows 2003 Server
- Hosting the file on a Linux Server
