User Limit of 1 on share prevents Word from saving

Hi,

All of our users have their own drives mapped, ie. \\server\username$
These drives have a user limit of one set, to prevent concurrent
logons (their batch script logs them off if the user drive doesn't
exist).

We have discovered now that this prevents word from saving to this
drive. Wordpad saves fine, but word refuses with a permissions error.
If we set the user limit to 2, then word will save.

Does anyone have any idea why word requires this extra session, and
what we can do to get around it?

Hi Robb,

Based on my test, Word can save to the shared folder which only have one
connection.

Please check whether your client has the anti virus application installed.
If yes, please disable the option to check the network files. This will
create a new session with different account to the share.

Not sure if it is the anti-virus, but we've discovered that by setting
the user limit to 2, everything works, and a 2nd concurrent logon is
still not allowed, so we've achieved our desired solution. :)

Thanks
